Wow! Has it seriously been since July that I have posted? Apparently I got a little off schedule as summer wound down and school started. I have continued to stay busy though sewing for Morgan and the boys, as well as a few custom items here and there. But, my most recent addition to Morgan's Threads is the Etsy shop! Starting now you can order items that are ready to ship or custom orders right on my Etsy store, MorgansThreadsAK. Head on over there now and check out the awesome Christmas shirts that are available to purchase!!

Pins vs. Clips. Old habits die hard, right?

I was working on a project the other week, and it dawned on me that I just can't stop using pins when I sew! About a year or so ago I was introduced to these magical little plastic clips. They looked super cool and I thought they would make sewing a little easier for me. Well, skip forward however many outfits later and I still cannot get the hang of the clips, lol! I guess I just like my pins!

Now, you might wonder why it's even an issue to switch to clips. For starters, pins can poke! Randomly every now and then a pin will poke me while attaching pieces together, and then I have to stop my project to deal with the finger that has been impaled. I also got into this really bad habit years ago of holding pins by my lip so it was easy to grab while pinning or sewing. Not a great plan when you have a little one that likes to mimic everything you do. And speaking of that little one, she also likes to go around the sewing area and pick up all of the pins that Mommy has dropped! It wasn't so bad when she used to carry a little box with her and then hand them back to me, but lately she likes to take the pins to her bed and inspect them. Needless to say, I should probably get myself in the habit of using clips!!

I hope that everyone is having a great summer! Alaska's weather has been amazing to us this year and I have the tan to prove it!! Summer Tanks & Shorties

Summer is in full swing here in Alaska! We have had some amazing, hot sunny days that have called for popsicles, runs in the sprinkler, going barefoot, and best of all, tank tops and shorts. I am very excited to add Tanks & Shorties as another style option from Morgan's Threads! All available fabrics have been listed in an album on Facebook. I am going to try and start adding pictures to an album for fabric choices that are in pre-order status. There are some pretty cool prints coming in and I just can't keep them to myself!!


The sizing guide for the Tanks & Shorties is listed below. I have found with Morgan, that because she is so small, I get a better size when I actually go off of measurements. If you are not sure which size your babe falls into, just let me know their measurements (chest, waist, hips) and I can help you decide which size will be best.
