Pins vs. Clips. Old habits die hard, right?

I was working on a project the other week, and it dawned on me that I just can't stop using pins when I sew! About a year or so ago I was introduced to these magical little plastic clips. They looked super cool and I thought they would make sewing a little easier for me. Well, skip forward however many outfits later and I still cannot get the hang of the clips, lol! I guess I just like my pins!

Now, you might wonder why it's even an issue to switch to clips. For starters, pins can poke! Randomly every now and then a pin will poke me while attaching pieces together, and then I have to stop my project to deal with the finger that has been impaled. I also got into this really bad habit years ago of holding pins by my lip so it was easy to grab while pinning or sewing. Not a great plan when you have a little one that likes to mimic everything you do. And speaking of that little one, she also likes to go around the sewing area and pick up all of the pins that Mommy has dropped! It wasn't so bad when she used to carry a little box with her and then hand them back to me, but lately she likes to take the pins to her bed and inspect them. Needless to say, I should probably get myself in the habit of using clips!!
